Registered office of company

The Act states that a company shall as from the day on which it begins to carry on business or as from the fourteenth day after the date of its incorporation, whichever is the earlier, have a registered office within Malaysia to which all communications and notices may be addressed and which shall be open and accessible to the public for not less than three hours during ordinary business hours on each day, Saturdays, weekly and public holidays excepted as mentioned in Section 119(1).

Section 119(2) of the Act further adds that if default is made in complying with subsection (1) the company and every officer of the company who is in default shall be guilty of an offence against this Act.

The default penalty for an offence against this section is one thousand ringgit.
